Good morning, Netizenz...

Having survived yet another DOS attack on Kharma's news server, it looks as
if I'm not the only one being affected by this malaise of Ninja Idiots with
too much disposable time on their hands. I see where Hurricane, which is one
of the truly *HUGE* news servers in San Jose was offline for about an hour
yesterday, purportedly because they were under attack, as well.

For the life of me I cannot figure why someone would try to do a DOS on a
freakin' DSL IP, but I suppose they don't have anything else to do with
their time.

It took me about an hour to finger out how to make the firewall boxen for
Kharma stop the nonsense, although it still had a heft impact on my network.
Please pardon any interruption(s) to news that you may have noticed.
