My Laptop has a DVD-ROM Drive

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Linux Based DVD player so Sandi can
use the thing to view movies here at home?

mplayer dvd://[title | [start_title]-end_title ] [options]
mplayer vcd://track[/device]
mplayer tv://[channel] [options]

No DVD or TV here, but VCD works fine. Try "kplayer dvd://" and hit the
fullscreen button. Kplayer is a KDE version of mplayer.

Some other players to try are: xine, vlc, totem

Welp, I Dled Olge DVD player in it's RPM package

Then I loaded it up on the box and the KDE desktop had an auto- RPM loader.

So I ran it.

I could parse the permissions conflicts. But I went ahead and installed it
anyway.

And then I couldn't *find* the damned thing!

In the end I took SuSE linix off and installed Win2K, because that laptop
is for writing, not for wrangling software on. I lost a whole day's writing
pissing with it

So I loaded WIN2K and put a DVD in the DVD drive and it loaded the free
Interactual player that comes on many DVDs...

Turns out the old ATI Savage Video card in that lap top is just not up to
playing a DVD.

So when my Wife wants to play a DVD, she gets the desk top and I take the
Lap top into another room. In another house...
